What do you do?
I conduct chess classes.

When did you play chess?
I played chess at 10 years old.

How did you get to know about the chess game?
From my English teacher in primary school.

Where did you get chess training?
I had my chess training from my primary school chess class. After my primary school, I did most of my chess training by playing online on chess.com. My rating is around 2200 (blitz) and 2700 (Tactics).

Did you take any chess coaching?
Yes, during primary school. From 13 years old onwards I learn chess all by myself until now.

Why do you continue to play chess?
Beating my schoolmates by surpassing him on the online chess rating is my main motivation to continue playing.

Is chess is more of a passion or has it become a winning symbol to you?
Passion.

Before the Internet, while you were building up your chess skills, did you play in other states in Malaysia?
Yes, to get exposure and tournament experience and also representing states to play.

How many tournaments have you took part in?
Many and I have lost count.

What was your biggest win so far?
Here my achievements:
1. National Age Group 2008- 1st runner up
2. MSSPP Individual and Team Champion
3. MSSM Champion
4. Best IPT team representing UTAR (my uni) in KASUGI team event.

What have you gained from the chess game?
High analytical mind and it also help in training my patience.

What have you gained from joining chess tournaments?
Making friends from other states while representing Penang to play.
